WELCOME TO THE NIAGARA FRONTIER SECTION OF THE A&WMA

YP Event

The A&WMA-NFS Young Professionals Group (YP)  is hosting a Mentor Breakfast on Thursday March 12, 2026 at Third Space Cafe & Entertainment located at 777 Main Street, Buffalo, New York 14203.  This event is open to young professionals (35 years and under) and those over 35 years if you are interested in being a mentor to young professionals.  A light breakfast and coffee will be provided along with a chance network with fellow young professionals.  Registration is open through March 10, 2026.  Click here to register.

Dinner Meetings

Our next dinner meeting will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 and includes a tour of Our Lady of Victory National Shrine and Basilica (767 Ridge Road, Lackawanna, NY 14218).  The tour will start at 5:00 pm with the Social Hour/buffet dinner to follow at Curly's Grille (647 Ridge Road, Lackawanna, NY 14218) at 6:15 pm.  Click here to register.

EDUCATION

A&WMA-NFS is now accepting applications for the James G. Strickland Memorial NYSDEC Environmental Education Summer Camp Scholarship.  Click here to view the application.  Applications are due by February 27, 2026.

SEMINAR

The 2026 A&WMA-NFS and BAPG Annual Enrichment Seminar was held on February 19, 2026 at The Grapevine Banquets and Event Center.  This years seminar included five presentations.  Click here for a copy of the agenda.

ABOUT THE NIAGARA FRONTIER SECTION OF A&WMA

The Niagara Frontier Section of the Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA NFS) is a non-profit organization for people involved in the environmental profession consisting of individual and corporate members from the Western New York area. Members come from local universities, governments, NYS Department of Conservation (NYSDEC), local industries, environmental engineering/consulting, legal firms and analytical testing. 

The Niagara Frontier is the Section of the Air & Waste Management Association located in Western New York.  The Niagara Frontier Section includes the chapter known as the Genesee Fingers Lake Chapter of AWMA.

Locally the AWMA NFS is involved in several areas which directly aid and promote environmental activities, including: monthly dinner meetings with guest topic speakers, an annual day-long environmental education seminar, scholarships for college students, Dave Sauer High School scholarship, Earth Day grants, and Envirun.

Air and Waste Management (AWMA) (www.awma.org) is a technical and educational organization with over 16,000 members worldwide.
