The William A. Faust Award

The William A. Faust Award was established in 1993 by the Air & Waste Management Association, Niagara Frontier Section, to recognize a member for distinguished service and outstanding contributions to our Section.

Our 2023 honoree is Michael Hecker. Mike has been a member of the Section since 2011.  Mike has been a critical contributor to one of our cornerstone events, the Annual Seminar, since 2015.  This selfless service is squarely in the tradition of our highly dedicated past Faust Award winners who have always been ready and willing to do the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

Mike grew up in Clifton Park, New York just north of Albany and received a bachelor of art's degree from the State University at Geneseo and obtained his law degree from the University at Buffalo.  He started his career at Schulte Roth Zabel and after a year joined Hodgson Russ in late 2010 where he specializes in the field of environmental law and renewable energy.  he is a partner, a member of the board of directors and has been managing the Environmental and Energy Practice Group at Hodgson Russ for the past three years.

Mike and his wife Dayna live in Clarence with their children.

Mike was recognized at our May 25, 2025 dinner meeting.
