The Envirun is presented by the Niagara Frontier Section of the Air & Waste Management Association to celebrate Earth Day. Proceeds from ENVIRUN are used to fund and sponsor environmental projects in the Buffalo-Niagara Region and the Section's High School and College scholarships.

Recent proceeds were awarded to Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Erie County jointly with Erie County Soil & Water Conservation District to educate both the homeowners and agricultural producers using fertilizers on their properties to reduce nutrient laden runoff to waterways, Gateway Longview, Inc., a Buffalo Westside community support organization, to fund their "Garden Varieties" project which will establish vegetable growing beds, and the Western New York Land Conservancy to partially fund public access projects at Lytle Nature Park in Lockport and the Kenneglenn Nature Preserve in Wales.

The 27th running of the Envirun 5K will take place on Saturday April 22, 2017 at Whirlpool State Park along the beautiful Niagara River Gorge. Come run with us, then explore the gorge!  See you at the Envirun!
